Define Beautiful

What if we were to tell you that you were beautiful? Would you believe us? Here's the thing for most of us women. We don't believe we can be beautiful.

Did you know this is one of the enemy's main strategies?

Because the thing is,  "Satan was a cherub, and his position was to guard the very throne of God… The highest of God's creatures, perfect in wisdom, beautiful beyond description…"

The enemy of our soul is after our beauty because he is all together jealous. One of the most well-articulated resources on this is at the beginning of the book Captivating by John & Stacie Eldredge

Redefine Life

God is not only the author of life and how life comes to be. He also makes a way that we may have life to the fullest, making not just the reality but the quality of our life different. God doesn't just want us to exist. He wants us to thrive

The word fullness in John 10:10 means superabundant or superior; by implication, excessive. If I had to guess, this isn't what we'd classify our life as. We don't look around and think, look at my "superabundant" life. But that's what Jesus came to this earth to give us. And it's ours to have. We have to look to him to define what that exactly means.

Leading us to our third and final point - eternal life. This is how God defined life. It's not something that begins when we die. It's something we enter into when we stop living in denial of what God has to say and start agreeing with him.

What is Eternal life?

Define Life

So here we go! Kicking off our first series with the word: Life.

We're all intimately connected to the word life since it applies to us all.

However, we can live as if this word doesn't apply, going through seasons or years to come to a point you realize you weren't fully living life. It’s only when we step into life, we recognize that we weren't living it.

That's because there are two components to the word life. 1. The reality we are alive and breathing 2. The quality of the life we are breathing.

When it comes to the first component, the dictionary defines life as the "State of which natural functions and motions are performed." "The quality that distinguishes a vital and functional body from a dead body."

So if you are alive and have life, your body can function or have the capability to be renewed. Life ends when this is no longer an option.

The Choice to Choose

As we get started here, we wanted to be sure we're all on the same page as you may have your thoughts on what "One Beautiful Life" means to you. And we want that. We want each person making this motto their own and something we will always encourage our community to tackle and define individually.

However, because this community is about the glory of God, we believe it's essential to tackle a few foundational concepts that will stay the same across the board for everyone here who is digging deep.

To get there, we have to back it up a little bit. Well, maybe a lot a bit. I told you to buckle up! We're headed back to the beginning. You may be thinking, the beginning of what? Our answer is to start at the beginning to All of Creation.

Where to Start

We spent a lot of time discussing where to start. We had so many great ideas that were in so many different directions; it seemed somewhat impossible to pick where to begin. However through it all, the word "redefine" continued to come up over and over.

The heart of this community is to cut through what is holding us back so we can live unashamed and unafraid. We want to help others step into the life God has for them when they begin to take Him at his word and respond with bold obedience

As we discussed the foundation of this community, we realized we all come from different places in our lives and faith. We knew the women in this community would be as well. We want diversity here, so we don't want that to change. But we also want unity here, which means this space can't be about anything other than Jesus' agenda.

Moving Forward With A Burning Fire

One challenge I have is that when I start new things, I carry shame over the fact I love to consume content. However, God’s helping me see what others might view as a liability in fact can be used for his glory. More on that in a minute!

I do my best to battle this and consume content in freedom, which makes my selections VERY random. Yet God has orchestrated it all down to details I couldn’t have ever imagined. From song lyrics to books my friends kid hands them when I’m sharing what God is doing with what he is teaching me!

4 Key Elements of Faith-Based Goal Planning + My Winter Goals

God has been revealing big things when it comes to the ways I strive for goals, even God-given goals. I see most people falling into two camps when it comes to goal planning. Plan all the things or plan none of the things. Because I want to dream big with God and then get quite and small to walk out each step with humility and faithfulness I thought it would be great to share Four Key Elements of Faith-Based Goal Planning when the whole world is yelling at you to make resolutions, to dream big dreams, and do big things.

One Beautiful Life Blog Birth Story - Part 2

While I was ready to tell the world and run on mission like never had before, I had zero momentum behind me nor the capacity to make it all happen. As I failed to produce blog posts, I began to discredit what God provided once again. Thinking, I may have gotten the vision on the first, exactly nine months later, but with nothing happening with my blog, it surely couldn't have been from him.

Redeem. Repent. Renew.

This morning I woke up an hour early and I couldn't be more thankful. God's been calling me to wake up and spend time with him each morning for many years now. He's called me to take it one step further this year with the Well Watered Women #wordbeforeworld challenge. While it's been a battle, it's also been an abundant blessing.

You are Beautiful

I read the verse and wanted to think to myself; this doesn't apply, they just want me to feel good about myself. This is just another self-esteem/self-help teaching not founded on God's word. My eyes were opened to how conditioned I am to reject this thought to the fact I'm good.

Voracious

I discovered a new word today. It was during the Fierce Faith Summit led by Alli Worthington. I forgot this was something I signed up for, which isn't too surprising, as I'm an avid "signer-upper" of all the things.

Living As a Servant of Christ

A few weeks back God revealed how I live ashamed of him. It was a sad reality when this conviction hit. I've felt it before, but this time was different, it went deeper compelling me to action. I've spent the last couple weeks trying to stay aware of the areas in life where I fall victim to this. While studying Mark 13 this week, verse 13 leaped off the page providing more context as I process the battle of living unashamed of Christ.
